If the cover is of good quality to prevent water from penetrating through it then this would certainly provide a barrier to water retention on the cushion.

However, our recommendation would always remain to store the cushion in a dry location if possible, in order to help prolong the life of the cushion.

Our cushion covers provide a level water repellence to spillages and light showers, but are not waterproof and are not recommended to be left out for prolonged periods of rain or in heavy downpours.
